2024 Summer Internship - Loss Mitigation (On-site Greenville, SC)
Who we are
Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
Our University Internship Program begins June 2024 and is 8 weeks long. The program provides qualified students the opportunity for professional development by building relationships, gaining corporate experience, learning about our industry, and preparing students with the experience needed to have a rewarding career at our organization. The ideal candidate can see the big picture in any situation, has an entrepreneurial and process improvement mindset and can handle any situation with composure and empathy. We’re looking for assertive, well-spoken, and compassionate students who are dependable, service-minded, and results-oriented.
The Loss Mitigation Intern will build a foundation and understanding on the processes associated with the first stages of default administration including, but not limited to backend processing, quality control, modification booking, underwriting review, second look at denials, pre-sale/pre-referral review, modification document prep, client settlement, and real time adherence monitoring.
