Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is America’s 5th-largest third-party mortgage servicing company. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms); on their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios: We collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay homeowners’ tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.


Ensure all assigned loan transfer funds are cleared and reconciled according to existing processes and procedures.  Maintain all SLA’s and proper tracking of SLA’s within the transfer timeline.  Update all systems and trackers to ensure all funds outstanding are being reported and collected timely.  This position requires monitoring and ensuring all funds are received and the transfer process from a cash perspective has been completed, this includes communications with other servicers, clients and internal associates. 



  • Maintain stated performance level for all assigned transfer and update the transfer checklists and other trackers accordingly
  • Ensure all compliance timelines are adhered to and properly documented
  • Respond to all external and internal emails completely and within internal & external SLA’s
  • Reconcile loan level activity for incoming loans
  • Ensure collection of funds due for all boarding’s within 5 business days of transfer
  • Make all necessary requests for adjustments on loans where the data received does not reconcile to the funds received
  • Update the reporting to ensure to clear items within the set SLA 5 business days
  • Work with the boarding team to escalate any outstanding amounts timely
  • Move funds to clear variances once received
  • Work with payment processing for all posting to loans timely of borrower payments and funds received post boarding
  • Monitor and maintain the funding register for all incoming wires and ensure entries are made and cleared within 3 business days
  • Ensure any pass-through funds are handled by the Investor Reporting Analyst
  • Work with bank reconciliation team to research and clear any variances as it relates to boarding balances
  • Adjusting loans for interim reported activity, this includes adjusting within a reasonable timeframe of boarding
  • Processing investor transfers and communicating back to the PM and analyst once completed
  • Producing the 404 notices for investor transfers/loan sales
  • Calculating repurchase quotes as requested by investor and ensuring if repurchase occurs funds are routed appropriately for the repurchase
  • Completing interim reporting review and reconciliation on interim deals
  • Other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Pull data files to complete data validation review for accuracy of the boarded and transferred loans.


  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external groups
  • Strong skills with project management, process management, and documentation thereof
  • Significant SQL querying and analysis experience
  • Significant experience in Mortgage Servicing or other relevant financial industry

Educational Requirements:

  • College or university degree in the field of Business, Data Analysis, computer science, process improvement, project management, etc. or significant experience in the field

Work Schedule & Travel

  • Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 with some minor flexibility
  • Certain after hours/weekend support may be necessary for projects or high business volume situations
  • After hours/ weekend email monitoring
  • Up to 10% travel to other company locations for projects, training, etc.
