Job Description



The Mortgage Insurance Claims Vendor Liaison will primarily be responsible for performing vendor oversight as well as other tasks as a part of the post-sale Claims Team. Position will also take direction from the Claims Manager for claims related post-sale functions such as property preservation updates, eviction updates, conveyance of title, title delivery, compilation of required documentation, adherence to GSE (Freddie and Fannie) servicing requirements during the reimbursement timeframe and responding appropriately to inquiries and requests from both internal and external sources.  The vendor liaison will also be expected to provide guidance and support to the claims team specialists as needed.



  • Train vendor and vendor representatives as needed for ongoing and new processes
  • Meet regularly with the assigned vendor(s) and answer questions related to business and vendor processes
  • Act as liaison between vendor(s) and internal team(s) to support the vendors’ efforts in providing services to the claims team
  • Create and update processes and procedures related to vendor services
  • Drive the analytics team to define specifications for new reports, as well as updates to current reporting, to monitor vendor progress and production
  • Communicate relevant information to vendors and claims’ processors as required for vendor integration
  • Review and maintain timelines for claim due dates and other claim related deliverables performed by vendor
  • Monitor and communicate servicing updates as required to maintain claim quality and ensure adherence to internal SLAs
  • Utilize prior experience in the vendor management space and be the subject matter expert in vendor production reporting and quality reviews
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Prior vendor management experience is required
  • Default-related mortgage servicing experience is required
  • Minimum 2+ years of claims filing experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA and GSE default servicing guidelines preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • CMAX Claim System experience preferred
  • Familiar with GSE and government loan servicing  guidelines
  • Knowledge of sound risk management practices for mortgage servicing functions
  • Experience reviewing processes, reports, and/or documents with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under timelines without direct supervision
  • Ability to lead and direct staff


Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree preferred but not required
