Primary Function
The Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance Analyst reviews results of mortgage servicing related internal and external quality assurance monitoring & testing. The QA Compliance Analyst assesses the accuracy of any testing exceptions or control gaps identified by QA. The QA Compliance Analyst conducts rebuttal exercises with internal and external stakeholders and reaches a determination at the conclusion of testing and monitoring cycles on what exceptions remain that need to be remediated. The QA Compliance Analyst conducts periodic training to the QA testing teams, strives to reach agreement with external stakeholders on methods, sample sizes, and criteria, and documents appropriate test plan or processes in departmental job aids.
Principal Duties
- Support all aspects of the company’s internal and external quality assurance stakeholders including the creation and execution of policies and compliance monitoring requirements in compliance with FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, VA, USDA, as well as private client & investor guidelines. Additionally, industry specific regulations are tested, including but not limited to RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, FACTA, GLBA, CFPB Regulation X, HMDA, and state-specific restrictions on disclosures, fee restrictions and licensing.
- Recommend and coordinate updates to compliance quality monitoring compliance policies and practices to ensure regulatory oversight is supported in testing and monitoring routines, and updated when testing gaps are identified.
- Provide guidance/consultation on testing and monitoring questions, resolving issues and escalating issues to management.
- Provide support for the Privacy, Red Flag and Fraud/ID Theft Program where claims are submitted, research is required, and/or investor notifications are imminent.
- Provide support for the Fair Servicing monitoring program, including analysis of agency required Servicing HMDA data and practices.
- Assist in the review of OFAC and BSA routine monitoring.
- Perform monitoring of key compliance indicators.
- Facilitate the training of the Call Quality Control Analyst including job aids and training guide documentation.
- Communicate with the Call Quality Control Analyst concerning findings, overturns completed, and errors made to ensure optimal performance.
- Consistently meet and exceed established deadlines.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- 2+ years of mortgage servicing experience
- Mortgage legal and/or compliance knowledge
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Able to effectively interact with managers and members of the functional areas assigned as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
- Superior computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with mortgage loan servicing systems.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and meet timelines without sacrificing quality.
- Knowledge of servicing requirements including FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, VA, and USDA as well as industry specific federal regulations.
