Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
 

Summary:  
The Foreclosure Supervisor will oversee a team of Foreclosure Contested Reps and ensure that the team is performing efficiently with respect to processes, procedures, timelines and other metrics, and also be responsible for all aspects of training and personnel management for the team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a staff of potentially remote or on-site contested reps

  • Ensuring training of new hires on all systems of record, investor guidelines, key legal knowledge, and industry standards

  • Ensure employees receive continued education and training in industry and legal updates and changes

  • All aspects of personnel management including coaching and annual reviews

  • Develop and maintain up to date policies and procedures

  • Serve as a point of contact for other departments within the Company, for clients, and legal vendors for escalated issues

  • Decision legal escalations, including legal strategy and settlement authority

  • Track and analyze departmental data and report on the performance of the team

  • Must be able to make business decisions based on likelihood of recovery versus liability risks

  • Accept special tasks as necessary and assume responsibility for successfully achieving objectives

Qualifications/Skills

  • 3+ years of foreclosure or mortgage service related experience required (litigation experience strongly preferred)

  • Must be comfortable in excel. Knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookup a plus

  • 1-2 years of management experience preferred

  • Must have strong analytical skills; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; strong communication; strong computer skills and strong research skills

  • Must be effective in multi-tasking and be goal oriented

  • Must be able to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision

  • Must be comfortable with leadership and development of employees

Educational Requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience required
