Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
Summary:
The individual selected for the job will be responsible for identifying risk resulting from title issues and timely managing the progress of resolving that risk with both clients and internal business partners.
Responsibilities:
Identify title issues and put them on the right path of resolution with the right vendor as outlined within servicing guidelines
Be responsible to resolve title issues within timeframes outlined by the department
Communicate clearly high-risk problems to clients with all available options to resolve
Provide, request, and execute documents for counsel to assist with title issues or other foreclosure matters
Update systems in a manner that is within department guidelines and clearly communicates the status of the account
Qualifications/Skills:
A high interest in problem solving and critical thinking
Self-motivated and goal oriented
1+ years of foreclosure experience required
2+ years in foreclosure/title/contested/litigation related field preferred
Clear, concise verbal and communication skills
Experience working with excel (filtering)
Required to work in physical office location
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma required
College degree preferred
